Hi I’m Ria, founder of Jhala

I’ve spent over a decade helping e-commerce brands grow, scale, and thrive in an ever-changing digital world. My journey started inside a fashion start-up, where I wore all the hats—marketing, e-commerce, product development—you name it. That hands-on experience shaped everything I do today.

Now, through Jhala, I work with brands to build smarter strategies, refine their digital presence, and maximise profitability—without the guesswork. Whether it’s optimising customer retention, refining marketing strategies, or scaling e-commerce operations, I’m all about finding the opportunities that move the needle.

We’re a growing consultancy working with premium online brands, and we need a creative, detail-oriented assistant to support email marketing, online store updates, and campaign execution.

If you have a strong eye for design, love crafting high-converting emails, and want real-world experience in Shopify store management and marketing strategy, this role is for you.

You’ll be working directly next to the founder, Ria Jhala, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving are key. One day, you might be designing high-converting email campaigns, and the next, updating a Shopify store for a major campaign or e-commerce launch.

This is an opportunity to learn by working closely with the founder and gaining first-hand exposure to high-level brand strategy, e-commerce performance, and digital marketing execution.

E-COMMERCE & MARKETING ASSISTANT

The Role

E-Commerce Store Updates & Optimisation

  • Assist with Shopify & Squarespace store updates—including homepage banners, promotional graphics, and collection page assets.

  • Work on seasonal campaign updates, ensuring consistency across digital platforms.

  • Support conversion rate optimisation tasks (e.g., improving product pages, updating sign-up forms, and testing store elements).

  • Help organise and upload promotional assets, landing pages & key marketing updates.

Email Marketing & Campaign Execution

  • Design & build email campaigns in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar ESPs.

  • Work on weekly & monthly newsletters, ensuring alignment with campaign strategies.

  • Optimise email layouts for engagement, conversion & mobile responsiveness.

  • Assist with audience segmentation & campaign scheduling.

  • Track performance metrics and help refine strategies based on data.

General Marketing Support

  • Assist in tracking & reporting email and social media campaign performance.

  • Support content planning & execution based on data-driven insights.

  • Organise marketing assets & help maintain a content and campaign calendar.

  • Provide support with marketing admin tasks, influencer outreach, and creative execution where needed.

Who we’re looking for


  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Figma.

  • An understanding of e-commerce design & digital marketing best practices.

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.) is a plus—but not essential.

  • Ability to create engaging email designs, social graphics & promotional visuals.

  • Comfortable working with Shopify & Squarespace (or eager to learn!).

  • A detail-oriented and organised approach to marketing execution.

  • Proactive and detail-orientate

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage different tasks across multiple clients.

  • Working closely with the founder and clients means you’ll need strong communication skills and a team-player mindset.

  • The digital space moves fast! You should be excited to test, optimise and grow your skills in a fast-paced environment.
